Jorgensen Facilities Completes New Playground at Martin County Southbound Rest Area on Florida’s Treasure Coast

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — Jorgensen Facilities has completed construction of a new children’s playground at the Southbound Martin County rest area along Florida’s Treasure Coast. Delivered under a supplemental agreement, the project transforms a routine highway stop into a family-friendly destination for the millions of travelers who use the I-95 corridor each year.

Completed in June 2026, the playground features a pirate-themed play structure with slides and climbing elements, shade canopies engineered for the Florida sun, poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing, concrete walkways, and secure perimeter fencing. Jorgensen Facilities served as project manager, coordinating the specialty contractors who performed the work and advising on equipment placement to meet current playground safety requirements — completing the build in a matter of weeks.

“This project reflects our commitment to delivering safe, durable, and welcoming public amenities,” said [Name, Title, Roy Jorgensen Associates]. “We’re proud to give Treasure Coast travelers a reason to stop, stretch, and let their kids play.”

The playground reached substantial completion on June 22, 2026, and awaits final inspection and sign-off from the Florida Department of Transportation ahead of its public opening.
