Jorgensen project teams across the country came together to observe National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) in April of 2026, through meaningful acts of remembrance, reflection, and renewed commitment to safety. We solemnly honored the memory of our colleagues, Scott L. Adkins and Terry Blum, whose lives were lost in work zones and will never be forgotten. Their legacy continues to shape our safety culture and serves as a powerful reminder of the risks our crews face every day.
Throughout the week, employees at every level of the organization — from corporate leadership to field crews — took time to reflect on those risks and reinforce practices that protect both our teams and the traveling public. From jobsite discussions to visible participation in Go Orange Day, Jorgensen employees demonstrated a shared commitment to vigilance, accountability, and looking out for one another. NWZAW provided an opportunity to reinforce a culture where safety is embedded in every decision we make.
At Jorgensen, safety isn’t just a priority — it’s a responsibility we carry for our teams, their families, and every driver on the road. Slowing down, staying alert, and respecting work zones are simple actions that save lives. Our commitment extends beyond NWZAW, guiding how we operate, plan, and carry out work across the country each day.
National Work Zone Awareness Week, held annually since 2000, is a nationwide campaign dedicated to improving driver behavior in highway work zones to reduce fatalities and injuries. Through our participation, Jorgensen stands with industry partners and public agencies in reinforcing a shared message: Every worker should get home safely every day.
