A civil engineer, Mr. Henningsgaard, has been involved in public works since 1968. He has spent nearly 50 years as an integral member of Jorgensen, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Infrastructure Services and continues to serve on the firm’s Board of Directors. Under his leadership, Jorgensen advanced numerous programs and initiatives to enhance operations and maintenance contract delivery, including organizational improvements, performance-based approaches, and the adoption of emerging technologies. His experience spans both the United States and international markets, where he has served as a project principal on major initiatives across Central and South America, Africa, and Asia.
Mr. Henningsgaard is also a dedicated industry advocate. He is a founding member and past president of the Association for the Management and Operations of Transportation Infrastructure Assets (AMOTIA) and has played an active role in industry committees and agency partnerships that have helped shape modern asset maintenance practices. Through his leadership and collaboration with public agencies and private partners, he has contributed to the advancement of outsourced operations and maintenance programs across multiple delivery models.
AMOTIA’s mission is to foster partnerships among industry and public agency stakeholders to promote innovative, cost-effective strategies for managing and maintaining transportation infrastructure assets. The Legacy Award is the organization’s highest honor, recognizing individuals whose careers have made a significant and lasting impact on the field, and has only been awarded to three individuals in the history of AMOTIA. Mr. Henningsgaard’s contributions exemplify that legacy, leaving a lasting imprint on the industry and the professionals who continue to advance it.
