Jorgensen Assists with I-95 Checkpoint Requirement During Pandemic
Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida issued an Executive Order 20-86 on March 27, 2020 to keep Floridians safe in the midst of the COVID-Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida issued an Executive Order 20-86 on March 27, 2020 to keep Floridians safe in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) asked Jorgensen to assist with maintenance of traffic needs during the implementation of the I-95 checkpoint for motorists entering Florida from Georgia. The Florida Department of Health (DOH) and the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and Jorgensen are seen in action as motorists enter Florida.

The checkpoint is intended to mitigate community spread by requiring motorists coming from Louisiana, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to isolate for a period of 14 days upon entry to Florida or for the length of their visit (whichever is shortest) The Executive Order 20-86 does not apply to persons performing military, emergency, health or infrastructure response or persons involved in any commercial activity, including individuals that live in Georgia and commute to work in Florida.
